The Grange was founded December 4, 1867 in Washington, D.C. The organization reached Oregon just five years later. Originally intended to bring isolated farmers together to share methods and engage in cooperative buying and selling, the Grange continues today as a grassroots, non-partisan advocate for agriculture, rural issues, and American values. Grangers serve local needs by volunteering countless hours and making their halls the social center of 170 communities across the state.
Through artifacts and art, come see the history of the Grange in Oregon.
This exhibition will run April 28th to June 4th. Join us for an opening reception on Saturday, May 5th, from 2 to 4 pm with local Grange experts and speakers.
