Hunters of the Sky with OMSI
Get a bird’s-eye view of how hawks, owls and eagles survive in the wild. Students learn about special adaptations such as “silent flight” and how birds of prey see and hunt. They will also discover what owls have for midnight snacks as they dissect owl pellets and take home their findings. Topics include adaptations, anatomy, biology and classification.
Intended for kids in grades 4-8.
Black Family Storytime
The African and African American experience comes alive for children from birth to age 6 (with their favorite adult/family members). Have fun with books and stories, songs, and movement activities in a positive and affirming environment. Black Storytime builds language and literacy skills your child needs to be ready for kindergarten. Attendance is limited and free tickets are available 15 minutes before storytime.

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. The dogs and handlers are from Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Dove Lewis Portland Area Canine Therapy Teams, Paws for Love, and Pet Partners®.
Family Playtime
Play and learning go hand in hand. Join other families in a fun playtime at the library with books, toys, music, and all the room you need to learn through play. As Mr. Rogers said, "... for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood."

One-year-olds (with a favorite adult) enjoy songs, movement activities, rhymes, books and playtime. This action-packed program engages new walkers in language-based activities. Attendance is limited and free tickets are available 15 minutes before storytime.

Symphony Storytime: The Strings with Vijeta Sathyaraj
The Oregon Symphony is on the road for interactive, musical storytimes. Each week features a visit from an Oregon Symphony musician who will play and provide an introduction to their instrument and orchestral music. In our final storytime of the spring series, we will meet the strings with violinist Vijeta Sathyaraj. This program is best for preschoolers - 12 with their grownups.

Lego Club
Join us for a fun and imaginative LEGO building session. We'll provide the building blocks, you bring the creativity! Ideal for grades K-5, but younger and older siblings are welcome.
You Too Can Craft! Crochet Granny Squares
Crocheted granny squares have a long history and can be used to make many things. In this class you will learn how to make a basic granny square. Project ideas for using these and where to find other patterns will be shared too.
Materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own.

Kids in grades 4-5 are invited to talk about graphic novels and eat snacks! Every meeting includes a short activity related to this month's book. A limited number of books are available for pick up at the library.
