Join us for outdoor storytime designed for families with young children! In celebration of National Bike Month, we invite families to pedal over to our outdoor space for a bike-themed storytime event on May 18th from 10:15 am to 10:45 am.

Investigate real insects and create detailed nature-based drawings and paintings. This event is aimed at kids and families.

Play and learning go hand in hand. While our storytimes are on break, join other families for a fun playtime (for ages birth - 1) with board books, toys, music, and all the room your baby needs to learn through play. As Mr. Rogers said, "... for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood."

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. The dogs and handlers are from Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Dove Lewis Portland Area Canine Therapy Teams and Pet Partners®. Call 503.988.5123 to register.

Make your garden even more beautiful by creating handmade garden ornaments. Artist Kathy Karbo will show you how to use hammers, anvils and other tools to create these decorative pieces.

Join us at Capitol Hill Library for a fun and enjoyable afternoon of crafting for all ages. We will celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander culture and achievements through art. Supplies will be provided for a different art project hosted on the first three Sundays in May (May 5, 12 & 19) from 12:30-4:30 pm.
