Although the writing in this book may not be the best, the plot is pretty good and the characters have a strange way of drawing you in. This book was so suspenseful and amazing that I read it all in one sitting, something I haven't done since the first time I read any of the Twilight Saga (unfortunately, this isn't as good as Twilight/New Moon/Eclipse/Breaking Dawn, my favs). Speaking of which, I would recommend this book to Twilight lovers, since it is also about vampires falling in love with humans.

This book is messed up. It is the second most disturbing book I've read (The first is The Sluts by none other than Dennis Cooper once again. I couldn't even finish it I was so disgusted, and believe me it take a lot for me to put a book down.) But despite how horrid the overall theme of the plot is, Cooper does manage to create character that the reader can still relate too in some sad and confusing way. the story focuses on the severely complicated life of a teen named Larry. He's hired to kill a fellow student and retrieve the Boys journal, sounds simple right? But of corse it's never that easy. Not only does he have to deal with his suicidal brother, Drunken mother, Dying father, confusing sexual preference, and crazy Nazi want-to-be's friends, but he also has to live with his the growing number of murders he believes he has committed. That enough to make the most sane person go completely nuts, you almost feel sorry for the guy. which is why I couldn't put the book down. Like I said before this book is deeply disturbing and not for the little ones, but if your into the psychology behind barbaric circumstances like Columbine. Than this is a good book for you. If not than stay as far away from this book and even this author. Although this book is extremely provocative, it is also very demented and not intended for the weak-hearted.

Twilight Series: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn

The Twilight series is absolutely amazing! If you like Harry Potter, you'll like these books even better. I've read each of the book at least twice, which obviously shows how much I love them. My friends and my older sisters love them too. The books get better the further you read into the. So keep reading even if you only think the beginning is only okay. The Twilight series is a must read!!

I read the first Twilight book in a day. It's the kind of book you can't stop reading. However, that is it's only redeeming quality. The fact that the writing isn't very good is only the start of my complaints. The book has two plots, one is a classic hot guy falls for awkward girl, and the other is an adventure where said awkward girl's life is threatened and hot guy has to save her. In my opinion, Stephanie Meyer should have made the first book into two, because it's way too long as it is and books should only have one main plot unless the writer is skilled enough to pull off two, which Meyer is not. Besides that, there is absolutely no character development, a real problem considering the book is almost 500 pages. I've read 25 page children's books with better character development. Also, Edward and Bella,the two main characters, are both obnoxious, way too mushy, and draw none of my sympathy. This could be okay, except that only one of the secondary characters has a good enough personality to make up for the lack of likablility in the main characters. And that one character isn't even very well developed. I understand that many people like this book and series, and I don't begrudge them that. I just don't happen to think it's worth all the negatives when I could spend my time reading Gone With the Wind or Harry Potter.

DAHL is grabing you with the tension in this novel. Though it is a little kidy, this is a great thrill with all of the obstacles this peach goes through.I would reccommend this book to 5th and 6th grade kids.

WHEN THEY WENT BACK HOME THERE LEGS WERE SORE AND MOTHER LAYED DOWN ON THE MAT ON THE FLOOR. SHE DID NOT GET UP. WHEN PARVANA WENT TO SHOP FOR FOOD SHE ALMOST GOT BEAT UP AGAIN BUT THEN SHE SEES HER TEACHER AND SHE ASKS WHATS WRONG. SHE SAID, "I ALMOST GOT BEAT AGAIN." All the stuff he went throuh When the whole time he was just looking for a home that when they called for all the rest of the kids to go home he would have some where to go.That was not the park or hoping from house to house. I would get tierd of that too. A question poped up in my mind if you had nowhere else to go,no money would you leave your origanal home?I say no I would try to work it out.To answer the question you have to read the book for yourself and ask yourself what if!

this book is good but it's VERY depressing. This girl named Kristina is a good girl. She would never do anything too wild. But there is another side to Kristina, when she goes bad her name is all of a sudden, Bree. When Kristina goes to visit her dad, she meets this guy named Adam who introduces her to the monster, which is crank(aka meth). She gets hooked on it and can't stop using. When she goes back home, she starts hanging around guys who carry around drugs. she starts going out with this guy named Brendan just so she can get the drugs. One day, Brendan tries to rape Kristina. She breaks up with him and starts going out with someone else. She then finds out that she's pregnant. she's scared and doesn't know what to do. Reading about Kristina and all her suffering gives me a headache. but it was a good read.

This book starts when Mara Valentine's niece (Mara's sister is 20 years older than her and had kids young) moves in with her and her mom and dad. They are total opposites: Mara is a straight-A vegan, competing for Valedictorian, working at a cafe, and excepted into Yale, who has recently broke up with a jerk named Travis. Her niece V is a slutty, pot-smoking, meat-lover who has gone to 17 high schools in her life and has recently hooked-up with Mara's ex Travis. When she moves in Mara thinks her perfectly planned out life is ruined, but as her high-school and ultimately life change she realizes it may not be a bad thing. This book is totally romantic and has a great plot, and I really enjoyed it!

After reading Troy by Adele Geras (which is also very good!) I decided to read Ithaka, the story about the aftermath of the Trojan War. Ithaka is the island that Odysseus, the creator of the Trojan Horse, lived on before the war. The Odyssey is the famous story of the ten years it took Odysseus to return, but Ithaka takes a look at the other side of his story, about his wife Penelope and her devotion (or lack thereof) to the husband everyone except her and her son thinks is dead. It also follows the story of Klymene, a young servent to the queen, and her friends the prince, Penelope and Odysseus's son, Telemachus, and her twin brother Ikarios. What happens when suitors come to Ithaka, all seeking Penelope's hand in marriage? With the interference of the Gods, who knows? I loved Ithaka and it's companion Troy.

I read these books right when they came out but I don't think I wrote a review. These books are about Bella, a teenager moved from sunny Phoenix to cold, seemingly dreary Forks. When she meets the strange Cullen family, she is shocked by their beautiful faces and Edward's seeming resentment, but he gets over that and they can't seem to resist each other, even though Edward has a strangely strong pull towards her blood. These books are so suspenseful and great, you have to read them! You'll never put in down and soon the last book in the series Breaking Dawn comes out. Can't wait!!

If you are a person who usually avoids sci-fi/fantasy because it is too confusing, weird, or just "out there," then definitely give this book a try. It's a wonderfully fast-paced book with delicious descriptions, characters, and emotions. And be sure to check out the sequels--Rebel Angels and The Sweet Far Thing.

If you dont already have it, get both albums or buy them on iTunes, everyone can at least find one Hannah or Miley song they like.

You might know by now, that I'm a huge Jesse McCartney fan. If you're wanting listening to something a little different. Try listening to the Beautiful Soul CD. Beautiful Soul is one of my favorite cds of all time. The song "beautiful soul" is so good.It has a nice pop rock sound to it. it's not too rock and not too pop. Even though Jesse McCartney recorded the song at age 17, his still very powerful and mature. The rest of the songs on the album are very popular and you might recognize them from a couple of movies. "Because you live" was from the movie Princess Diaries 2. "Get your shine on" is from the Kim Possible movie. If you want to listen to the CD before buying it, i suggest you check it out from one of the multnomah county libraries.

Nobody's Princess is one of the many stories of Helen of Troy, only in much more detail of the beginning of her life in Sparta and her travels throughout Greece. It explains the side of the Spartan princess that wants to learn how to fight with a sword and ride horses. The book travels through her childhood, and although the writing isn't the best ever, I still enjoyed Nobody's Princess, and am about to start the sequel Nobody's Prize.

I've always enjoyed anything by Neil Gaiman, and this was one of my favorites. The plot is amazing, with comic relief in all the right places. It was really engaging, too, so you had to keep thinking about what happens next. I highly reccomend renting this movie and watching it for yourself.

It was one of those books when you start reading it you never want to stop even to do somethingn fun because that's fun at the time. It's about a girl that has HIV's and her mom,dad,and sister died from it. But she has survived from it. But she meets this guy named Berto and they had sex and stuff then she has to tell the group home that she's pregnant and that she wants to keep the child. Anyways at the end the baby has no HIV/AID. But the sad part was Berto was going in and out of the hospital and so Ana got with a different guy at the end of the story, and left Berto sick in the hospital. :[ I know I felt like crying!!!!

Violet is an inventor, Klaus is a researcher, and Sunny is a biter--then a cook. Here is a summary of the first book: In The "Bad Beginning" they find out that their parents died in a fire that destroyed their home. They have to live with Count Olaf, an evil actor who is after their fortune. He is mean to them in every way, but when they try to tell the man who is supposed to help them, Mr. Poe, about it he doesn't belive them. They find out that Olaf plans to marry Violet to steal the Baudelaire fortune, and they only narrowly escape it. All thirteen books rock! Read them! Now! (I mean it!)

The book is fairly good, falling under fantasy/adventure. The clashing armies and negotiations with exotic/mythical races are all exciting. However, the book isn't the moost original I've seen. The Polypontian Empire (large, powerful, evil) is supposed to represent the Romans. This would not be the first book to have a native culture fighting off a Roman-like enemy. On that note, "Icemark" is an imitation of old Scandinavia, probably a mix of Iceland and Denmark. The allies its inhabitants gather include vampires and werewolves: the only thing new about that is the side they're on. Still, the coolest allies, in the author's opinion, are the sentient snow leopards, and the story does have some ideas that I didn't see elsewhere. So out of 5 stars, I'd give it 4.

The book is...good. Now, the first one in the series was amazing, but they've generally gone downhill, or not improved, as time went on. I don't understand the reasoning behind the title, and the storyline's gotten a little fractured: I read all the previous books in order, and I still don't get quite what happened at the end of the previous, let alone what is happening in parts of this one. I guess the author tried to make a pro-environment piece, since the Flock spends their time in Antarctica studying Global Warming. However, the protagonist's conversion comes across as heavy-handed, with the use of a global-warming-amped hurricane, and the unsupported claim that global warming causes earthwauakes and tsunamis really hurts the author's real-life credibility (there's a difference between earth movements and climate). In the end, the book's at its best when things are exploding (or ocassionally during the Fang's Blog excerpts). So it's good, but not as good as older Patterson products.

I think it's a good book, with a nice plot, but the characters of Edward and Bella could use work. Bella is a bit too innocent and delicate--no one gets that many boys to fall in love with them, either, and Edward is too perfect; even vampires have some vices. Look at Rosalie and Jasper, neither of them are perfect, and they're vampires; Rosalie is vain and Jasper can't control himself when he smells blood. Makes sense that Edward should have at least one vice if these two have to deal with there's. Otherwise, it has a good plot and good characters, with an engaging way of drawing the reader in.

Even though the story mostly revolves around vampires, It wasn't what I expected to be. It was better. These vampires are good vampires, so if you're worried about thinking "Vampires? Creepy," don't worry, because they're not. And because they were talking about vampires I expected it to be set in some far off land that didn't exist, but again, I was wrong. It takes place in Forks, WA, a very real place. For my summery of this novel is that it's a romantic, down to earth, wonderfully written book. And because this book was so popular, it has been made into a movie that's going to be released December 12th, 2008. And guess where it was filmed? Oregon.

The first book i read by Sarah Dessen was Someone Like You. I truely enjoyed the story and considered it my fvourite book. I then read Dreamland, This Lullaby, and Just Listen also by Sarah Dessen. The week before going to my aunt's cottage i remember grabbing THE TRUTH ABOUT FOREVER from a shop in Chapters. I started to read the book one afternoon on the beach, and literally couldn't put it down. I stayed up until about 1 that morning reading, and went to bed. The next morning I woke up and immediately began reading. Although Someone Like You was an amazing book, my new favourite is The Truth About Forever. Whether it was Macy's realizations, Kristy's humor, Delia's disorganization, or Wes' charm, something made me truely love this book, and I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking for some interesting reading material.

For our Spring Break homework we had to read a historical fiction book about the Civil War. Our teachers gave us a list of books, but they were all really short and sounded boring for an advanced reader like me. I looked around our school library and found The Last Silk Dress. I had read some of Ann Rinaldi's other books already and liked them a lot, so I thought I'd try the book out. I asked my teacher and she said it was okay, so i read it. I'm glad I did; It was AMAZING. If you like historical fiction, or even if you don't, you should read this book. It's about a 14-year-old girl named Susan living through the Civil War in Virginia, a Confederate state, with her abusive mother. It's really interesting to hear about the Civil War from the perspective of a Southerner, who supported slavery and lost the war. Not only is it imformative about the war, but Susan's life is woven into a complex tale of family, opinion and love. All of Ann Rinaldi's books are written about real people, just not the famous ones. Out of all the books by her I've read, or maybe even all of the historical fiction I've read, this one is the best.

Its about a girl who is the princess of the warrior country of the Icemark, w/ the Land-of-the-ghosts to the north and the Polypontian Empire to the south. When the Polypontians attack the Icemark, Thirrin has to find allies or her country will perish. My favorite character is either Thirrin or Oskan ( who is a warlock) and the Vampire King and Queen are cool too. You HAVE to read it! Thirrin punches a werewolf on the nose!! P.S. The 2nd one is called Blade of Fire. It is good too!

In them Tally's(the main charecter) opinion is constantly changed, and usaully forcefully! The suspense is unbelievable, and the end of Specials is a good conclusion to Tally's story. Can't wait to begin Aya's story with Extras!

Okay, I admit, I waited in line for six hours. I know, I'm a dork. But whatev. Anyway, I suppose it was worth waiting for, just because I have waited for it for 8 years, but after reading it I was slightly disappointed. She left some questions unanswered (unless you've heard her "after-the-book" interviews), and gave some cheap explinations to others. However, the end battle scene made up for it; it was very LOTR style and exciting, and I absolutely thought it made up for everything! (although HOW harry just happened to be in the right place at the right time when there was the whole Snape scene, nobody knows. But oh well.) Anyway, I of course would recommend it to anyone who has waited years for the end, and to those who might be interested in knowing what happens. Btw, book 6 pwns.

Twilight is a fantasic book, I have read it twice in the last 24 hours, and I absolutley COULD NOT put it down!!!! Anyway, I strongly recommend this to anyone who is in dire need of a great book. My friend "Maria" was recommended this book by her older brother "Doug" Doug was at least two years older than her at the time, and yet, he absolutley LOVED it!!! Tilight is about this Teenage girl named Bella, who had lived in Pheonix, Arizona her whole life, when her mom gets married and has to move around the country w/ her new husband, Bella volunteers to go to a freakishley small town called Forks, to visit the father she never knew. On her first day in school in Forks, she sees this small group of kids eating , well, not eating, more like staring at their food Bella becomes obbsessed with the one boy at school who seems to run hot and cold instantly, his name is Edward Cullens. bella slowly becomes friends with him, and when they fall in live, she knows he's a Vampire, but she is not afraid, instead, she is dazzled... When the time comes for Bella to meet his family, things take a deadly turn, will bella ever see Edward again??? will Bella ever see her Mother again?? or will she too become a Vampire???? He tries to confince her to be normal. Does it work? Does she gain her popularity again? You must read this exetremely good book to find out!

This is a really good book if you like to keep in touch with your friends by email!

She goes in after them to save them, but she needs the help of her faerie-tale friends that escaped from the wild years ago into the real world, to help her. They to were dragged into the Wild. She also hopes to find her long-lost father in the Wild. Does she save her family? Does she ever find her father? You must read this book to find out!

The 7th one is my favorite one because it is really complicated and it has a nice twist. I think this book is a little more mature than the other ones. The question is: Does Harry live or die? Who does die? When I read the book i was sad when people died, but i knew that it was just a book.

It is about a teenager who's parents are rich and a teenager who's mom is a cleaning lady and they are kind of poor. The girls want each other's lives so they switch but you must read this book to find out if they get found out or get in trouble.

The book might be a little difficult to read, but it's well worth it. It had a wonderful cast, a good storyline, and full of suspence.You can also learn a thing or two about the 1700's by reading this. Esther Forbs mixes fiction and non-fiction in this story. I really liked it myself, and I totaly suggest anyone to read this. THough, some of the words are hard to read, and also hard to understand. The language in this book is like the kind people used back in 1700, so...Yeah. I liked it, hope you do too.

I liked this book a lot. It was sometimes hard to understand, but later in the story, I'd be like "Ah! So THAT'S why that happened!" and suddenly get it. It has ton of suspence and it WILL confuse you at times. I liked the charactors and the story, but I wasn't all that satified with the ending. It was worth reading though. I also love the author Lois Lowry. :) I suggest you read The Giver.

I read this book called Heart on my Sleeve by Ellen Wittlinger. It was about teenagers keeping in touch by email, letters, postcards, and IM. Chloe, the main charater, meets a boy that she likes but she only sees him for a weekend and they email each other alot, and they like each other, but Chloe already has a boyfriend that she has had for a long time and they are really close. To find out what happens you should read Heart on my Sleeve, because it is a really good book.

About true love, friendship, and being ok with who you are, Sarah Dessen does a fabulous job of tapping into Macy's, and a lot of other teenager's feelings. At 374 pages, it's a bit of a long read, but perfectly manageable. I couldn't put it down when I read it, so it only took me about a week. Look for it at your local library!

I absolutely LOVE Dee Henderson! Her writing overall is just fantastic! She writes several books based upon a fictional/christian/romance/suspence feel. The O'Mally series is fantastic! They are a little dramatic sometimes, but they are overall VERY well written. The Uncomon Heroes series is just fantastic! Including everything from the CIA to the SEALS. The Navy to a civilian life guard. An FBI agent to an ordinary 3rd grade school teacher. It incorperates EVERYONE!!! I truly love thses books!!!! Again... that's DEE HENDERSON!!!

This is one of the most fabulouse books to have came out. I don't belive the last two revies of them are very acurate. Bella a teen who lives in a big hometown is forced to move to a small city called Forks. During this time she gets a new ( well old model) car and gets inrolled into a samll high school. She then meets typical friends but has her eyes set on Edward. A couple of boys are head over heals for her, but she finds ways to say no.Edward a ;strange person, trys despratly to get out of her class, but why? Later he does'nt even want to be her friend to protect her. Later she finds out he is a Vampire and all his strange behavor is now not so unreasonable. She finds herself in a relationship with him, and then he leaves her. Thats when a male named Jacob comes in, he loves bella , but BElla never loved anyone but Edward. Cheack out New moon to see what happens. Will Edward ever come back, or will she fall back in love with Jacob a Warewolf?
