How to Play (Grades 7-12)

boy reading

1. Track your reading or listening to a book and mark in one space on the grid. One space equals 60 minutes. If this seems too hard or too easy, change the time to fit your own reading goal.

2. You may substitute one of the following activities for one space on each path.

3. When you finish a path, bring your gameboard to the library to select from the prize box. You must have your gameboard with you to receive a prize. When you finish all four paths, come to the library by August 31, 2008 to enter the Grand Prize drawing for a family vacation for four to Disneyland Resort. You also receive your choice of a T-shirt or a $5 bookstore coupon, AND a discounted $3.50 Oaks Park Deluxe Ride Bracelet coupon.

4. Finish the Bonus Path to earn a bookplate and a Book Buck to help buy books for kids and teens in homeless shelters and childcare centers.

(A) You may play the game only once.

(B) All players may count the time someone reads to them.

(C) One of Summer Reading's main goals is to connect you with your public library. Because of this, participants must be present to select their own prizes.
