Computer Labs
The library provides computer labs at seven of its locations. The lab at North Portland Library has the greatest number of services and hours, but all are equipped with the following:
- The Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Internet access
- Walk-in sign-up (except North Portland, which accepts reservations)
- Two-hour sessions (more if no one is waiting)
- Access for all ages unless otherwise noted.
In the Computer Labs, you may:
- Write reports, letters and resumes
- Create presentations
- Perform spreadsheet calculations
- Design and post web pages
- Send and receive e-mail
Lab monitors are available to help you. You may also use the lab's tip sheets, software guides and computer manuals.

Central
- Sunday 1-4 p.m.
- Wednesday 2:30-4:30*
- Wednesday 5-7:30 p.m.
- Friday 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Lab has 9 computers.
*These days only: Oct. 8, 29; Nov. 5, 19; Dec. 3, 10, 17
Lab will be closed Nov. 26 & 27 and Dec. 24 – Jan. 2, due
to holidays
Gregory Heights
- Saturday 9-10 a.m. (Bilingual Spanish/English)
- Lab has 10 computers.
Gresham
- Tuesday 4-7 p.m.
- Lab has 8 computers.
Hillsdale
- Sunday 2:30-4:30 p.m.
- Lab has 8 computers.
Hollywood
- Saturday 3:30-5:30 p.m.
- Lab has 10 computers.
- Lab has a color scanner.
Midland
- Monday 5-7:30 p.m.
- Fridays 2:30-5 p.m. (Bilingual Russian/English)
- Lab has 8 computers.
North Portland
- Tuesday 12:30-4:30 p.m. (Closed first Tuesday of the month.)
- Wednesday 12:30-3:30 p.m. & 5:30-7:30 p.m. (Spanish assistance available at 5:30-7:30)
- Friday noon-3:30 p.m.
- Saturday 1:30-5:30 p.m.
- Sunday 1-4:30 p.m.
- Lab has 12 computers.
In addition to Microsoft Office, the North Portland Computer Lab has Publisher, Typing Tutor and Photo Editor. You can make reservations for the lab up to one week in advance. Call 503.988.4810 to reserve lab time at North Portland Library. Lab will be closed Dec. 16-Jan. 3 for the holidays.
