One of ALA's eleven major divisions, LLAMA seeks to encourage and nurture current and future library leaders, and to develop and promote outstanding leadership and management practices.

“I'm honored to serve LLAMA's members as their president,” Raphael said. “LLAMA helps library leaders from all types of libraries build vibrant library services, and I'm pleased to be leading so many dedicated professionals serving such diverse communities.”

Molly Raphael was appointed director of libraries for Multnomah County in the fall of 2003. A recognized leader in the library field, Raphael has been an active member of ALA since 1974. She holds a bachelor's degree from Oberlin College and a master's degree in library science from Simmons College.
