3725 N. Mississippi Ave. [read]
This brightly-lit, colorful store has some of everything: mainstream and independent comic books, plus both new and used manga and graphic novels for kids, teens and adults. If you're new to comics, ask one of the friendly staff members for a recommendation. Bridge City also sponsors a Graphic Novel Reading Club for adults that meets sometimes at the store, sometimes down the street at Crow Bar.

Food carts seem un-chic, by nature. They're for hurried, furtive snacks, gobbled down while crouched on a park bench or walking quickly along the street. Not so Flavour Spot – here the atmosphere is gracious, the service friendly, and the food delicious. Waffles are baked to order and served sweet or savory, vegan, vegetarian, or meaty. Try the veggie sausage and maple butter, the fluffer nutter (your choice of three kinds of peanut butter!), or the whipped honey toppings. And don't forget, the espresso is delicious.
The Florida Room
435 N. Killingsworth [relax]
503.287.5658
Known for their Sunday morning services and stellar jukebox, this bar is located across the street from the North Portland Library. Maybe we should build a tunnel.
Mabel & Zora
1468 N.E. Alberta St. [shop]
503.335.6169
This small shop has a frequently changing array of cute & quirky women's clothing, jewelry, and shoes, priced much more reasonably than most boutiques. Be sure to stop by to get that hit of sophisticated working girl fashion!
