About the exhibit

For 25 years, Literary Arts has been bringing great writers to Portland as part of its Portland Arts and Lectures Series. In 1993, Literary Arts joined with the Oregon Institute of Literary Arts to support and celebrate Oregon writers and publishers, creating the Oregon Book Awards and Oregon Literary Fellowships. Newer programs include Writers in the Schools, Poetry in Motion®, Oregon Book Awards Author Tour and Poetry Downtown.

This exhibition celebrates the great cultural contribution that Literary Arts has brought to our community and to our state, and features materials borrowed from the organization, including original correspondence from authors; books, photographs and other materials by featured writers; Poetry in Motion® cards; along with materials and documents related to other Literary Arts programs.
