Hello and welcome to the library’s zine site!
The library has zines you can check out! There is more info on the Zine Collection page.
This website is brought to you by the Zine Library Group — an assortment of library staff who work with people of all ages and backgrounds in different parts of the library. The thing that brings us together is that we all love zines!
Here's why we love zines: they present unique information and points of view; local zines preserve details of our regional history and culture; and zinesters (people who write, edit, and produce zines) are part of the vibrant literary and artistic life of Multnomah County.
The Zine Library Group is working to make sure that this vibrancy is reflected in the library's collections and services. We are increasing the library's involvement with zine culture through events in neighborhood libraries, outreach to local zinesters, and of course the library's new zine collection.
These pages are for people new to zines, and for diehard fans. You'll find information about the library's zine collection, other places to to read, buy, or look at zines, details about upcoming library events where zines and/or zinesters will be present, and library resources that can help you learn about zines or help you make your own zine.
And we want input from our community! So please, get in touch with us and tell us what you think of this site, and share your thoughts and ideas about zines in your library.
