Congratulations summer readers!
Summer Reading 2024 is officially over! It was a great year for reading. Thanks to our partnerships in seven Multnomah County school districts, over 59,100 kids had their Summer Reading gameboards in their hands before school ended.
Thanks to the work of community partners, schools, educators, library staff and library outreach teams we were able to connect 99,890 youth to summer reading.
Youth collectively reported reading or engaging in a summer learning activity for an impressive 551,715 days during the summer months.
The Summer Reading program also offers volunteer opportunities for youth in grade 6 and up. Over 475 volunteers encouraged readers, answered questions and gave away Summer Reading prizes. Thank you, Summer Reading volunteers!
Check back in April 2025 for information on Summer Reading and volunteering in 2025.
