Read to the Dogs
Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. The dogs and handlers are from Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Dove Lewis Portland Area Canine Therapy Teams and Pet Partners®. For kids and teens. Call 503.988.5123 to register.
Teen Crafternoon!
Teens are invited to come work on crafts! Materials provided!
Work on the DIY craft of the week, or do your own thing with our location's craft materials! Sew, paint, glue, make, design; the sky's your limit! Learn alongside others, share your knowledge and explore new ways of making things!
Teen Anime Club (11-1)
Do you love anime? Are you in middle school or high school? If so, join our anime club! We meet two times a month at the Rockwood Library Makerspace to watch anime, discuss our favorite series, and eat yummy snacks. We can talk about mangas, do anime crafts, and design anime-themed materials as well!
Teen Gaming Club
Do you like to game? Are you in middle or high school? If so, join our gaming club! We'll play games, talk about games and eat snacks.
Native American Heritage Month: Weaving Pine Needle Baskets
Did you know that you can weave with English ivy, pine needles, or cedar? Learn basic basket weaving with the renown fiber artist, and Karuk basket weaver, Celeste Whitewolf. Celeste brings knowledge, warmth, patience, and fun to this half-day workshop. You'll learn to create a basket using locally sourced, pliant pine needles! This class is suitable for tweens and older.
Kids Junk Orchestra's Rhythm & Motion Class
Kids will love making noise with Kids Junk Orchestra! Through the use of non-conventional items such as buckets and recycled items, youth learn how to create various sounds and rhythms. This class focuses on group cooperation, basic rhythm drumming skills, team building, specialized drumming instruction and a safe environment to perform musically.
Black Sculptors Clay Creations
Join our Clay Sculpture Workshop, celebrating the rich heritage and creativity of Black sculptors throughout history. In this hands-on workshop we'll explore the techniques and styles of renowned Black artists while crafting your own unique pieces. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, this class offers a space to learn, create, and honor the contributions of Black sculptors who shaped the world of art. All materials provided.
Native American Heritage Month: Beading Earrings, 1 and 2
Learn how to create brick stitch & fringe style beaded earrings using seed beads, thread and a beading needle. Natalie Mitchell will briefly discuss the history of seed beads in the Native American community and there uses in regalia, jewelry and art.
Registration required. This is a two-part class. Registration opens on 10/26.
A Good Yarn Knitting & Crochet Group

Job Corps Information Session
Meet representatives from Springdale Job Corps to learn about the free programs available. Job Corps provides young people with the skills they need to find jobs and helps steer them towards their right career path.
No need to register, drop in any time during the session to get information and have your questions answered.

K-12 Virtual Tutoring / Tutoría Virtual
Virtual Tutoring is for students in grades K-12 who need support in language arts, math, science or social studies.
We offer three terms a year, each running for 8 weeks.
The student’s weekly appointment will be for 30 minutes on Tuesdays, sometime between 4 and 6 pm. They will be assigned an exact timeslot and tutor prior to the start of the term. These remain the same for the entire term.
Teen Game Night
Come to the Central Library and play some fun games like Mario Kart, Overcooked, board games, card games, and more! For ages 13-18.
